Terms of Use
Last updated: 20 April 2026
These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the website located at specno.com (the “Website”), operated by Specno (Pty) Ltd (“Specno”, “we”, “us”, “our”). By accessing or using the Website you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Website.
These Terms cover Website use only. Any engagement of Specno’s professional services is governed by a separate written agreement (a Master Services Agreement, Statement of Work, or similar document). Where there is any conflict between these Terms and a signed services agreement, the signed agreement prevails in respect of the services it covers.
1. About us
Specno (Pty) Ltd is a company registered in South Africa, with registered offices at Centennial Place, West Block, Bridge Street, Century City, Cape Town, 7441, South Africa. You can contact us at info@specno.com.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into binding agreements to use this Website. By using the Website you represent that you meet these requirements.
3. Permitted use
Subject to these Terms, Specno grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive and non-transferable licence to access and view the Website and its content for personal, non-commercial purposes and for the purpose of learning about Specno’s services.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use the Website in any way that breaches any applicable law or regulation, or that infringes the rights of any person;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Website, its servers, or any connected system or network;
- introduce viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs, or other material which is malicious or technologically harmful;
- use automated systems (bots, scrapers, crawlers) to access the Website, except for well-behaved search-engine crawlers obeying our robots.txt;
- reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Website;
- copy, reproduce, republish, sell or commercially exploit any content on the Website without our prior written consent;
- use the Website in a way that could damage, disable, overburden or impair it, or interfere with another user’s use of it;
- impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Website if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
5. Intellectual property
The Website and all of its content — including text, graphics, images, logos, icons, audio, video, software, layout, design and the compilation thereof — are owned by Specno or our licensors and are protected by South African and international copyright, trademark, patent, trade secret and other intellectual-property or proprietary rights laws.
The Specno name and logo are trademarks of Specno (Pty) Ltd. You may not use them without our prior written permission.
Nothing on the Website grants you any licence or right to use any intellectual property of Specno or any third party, except as expressly set out in these Terms.
6. Your submissions
If you send us enquiries, proposals, feedback, ideas, suggestions or other materials through the Website (“Submissions”), you grant Specno a worldwide, royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive and sublicensable licence to use, reproduce, modify, adapt and disclose them for any legitimate business purpose, provided that we will handle any personal information contained in them in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
You represent and warrant that your Submissions are your own original work (or that you have obtained all necessary rights to provide them to us), and that they do not infringe the rights of any third party.
7. Third-party websites and content
The Website may contain links to, or embed content from, third-party websites, tools or services. These are provided for convenience only and do not imply endorsement. Specno has no control over the content, privacy practices or availability of third-party sites and is not responsible for them. Your use of a linked site is subject to that site’s own terms and privacy notice.
8. No professional or legal advice
Content on the Website, including articles and case studies, is published for general information only. It is not intended as professional, legal, financial or investment advice, and should not be relied on as such. If you need advice tailored to your situation, engage Specno or a qualified professional through a proper services agreement.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Website and its content are provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Specno makes no warranties or representations, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, or that the Website will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error-free.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any warranty, right or remedy that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including under the South African Consumer Protection Act, 2008.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Specno and its directors, employees, agents and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, business, goodwill, or other intangible losses, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Website.
Specno’s total aggregate liability to you for all claims arising from or in connection with your use of the Website is limited to the greater of (a) ZAR 1,000 or (b) the amount you have paid to Specno in the twelve months preceding the event giving rise to the claim. For engagements governed by a signed services agreement, the limitation of liability in that agreement applies instead.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold Specno, its directors, employees and agents harmless from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from or related to (a) your use of the Website in breach of these Terms or any applicable law, (b) your Submissions, or (c) any content you provide that infringes the rights of a third party.
12. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use and protect personal information you provide through the Website. By using the Website you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Website at any time, with or without notice, for any reason — including if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification and governing law) will survive.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through a prominent notice on the Website. Your continued use of the Website after we post changes means you accept the updated Terms.
15. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. The parties submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the High Court of South Africa, Western Cape Division, Cape Town, for the resolution of any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms or your use of the Website. Nothing in these Terms prevents either party from seeking urgent interim relief in any competent court.
16. General
- Entire agreement: These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy and any notices published on the Website, constitute the entire agreement between you and Specno regarding use of the Website and supersede any prior agreements between the parties on that subject matter.
- No waiver: Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be considered a waiver of that right.
- Severability: If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
- Assignment: You may not assign or transfer any of your rights or obligations under these Terms without our prior written consent. We may assign these Terms freely, including to an affiliate or successor.
- No agency: Nothing in these Terms creates any agency, partnership, joint venture or employment relationship between you and Specno.
